About The Position

The General Labor role is responsible for activities that maintain a healthy crop and for harvesting produce that is ready for market. The role includes crop maintenance and harvesting, inspecting crop quality, carefully handling produce, and maintaining food safety, packing, cleanliness, and sanitation standards. Depending on operational needs, additional assignments may include equipment operation, product and material handling, and greenhouse sanitation. The position may also involve assisting with day-to-day coordination under management guidance.

Requirements

Secondary school diploma or equivalent preferred.
No previous experience required.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate keen attention to detail.
Ability to work at heights up to 15 feet.

General understanding of greenhouse operations.

Responsibilities

Maintain crops through winding, suckering, de-leafing, lowering, and pruning.
Harvest vegetables using hand tools such as shears and knives.
Inspect crop quality, monitor for disease and insect pests, and report issues to authorized personnel.
When assigned, assist with coordinating day-to-day activities by guiding peers, organizing workflow, and serving as a communication link within the team under management guidance.
Communicate frequently with the Labor Supervisor and report quality issues, product shortages, and damage to packaging or materials.
Handle produce carefully to prevent bruising or damage and meet quality, food safety, and packing standards.
As operational needs require, operate equipment such as forklifts or tuggers, handle products and materials, and maintain greenhouse cleanliness and sanitation.
Keep the work area clean throughout the shift and ensure equipment and areas are properly sanitized.
Report damage or mechanical issues to authorized personnel.
Comply with SOPs, Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety and health and safety requirements, and company policies and procedures.
Meet other core expectations defined by the company.
