This role is in a food production environment where proper PPE is required on the production floor at all times. Due to the nature of the Union Contract, production employees are not hired into specific shifts and may be required to work first, second or third shift. Job positions are assigned based on the Union’s job bid process. The shifts are 10 hours long, ranging from four to six shifts per week. The starting pay is $21.85 per hour, with a $.30/hour shift premium for 2nd shift and a $.40/hour shift premium for 3rd shift.

  • Adequate vision ability (depth perception and field of vision) to move around the facility safely and distinguish colors.
  • Good sense of smell.
  • Ability to work in all areas of the facility, both inside and outside, and on all floors in the facility.
  • Ability to work any shift, overtime, holidays and weekends as production requires based on seniority.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid forklift operator’s license at all times and operate the forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to consult with supervisor for assignment of job duties during periods of downtime.
  • Ability to communicate concerns/issues/problems to supervisor/co-workers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ability to recognize and report food safety and/or quality issues to supervisor and/or manager.
  • Knowledge and ability to install, set-up, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all equipment in the facility.
  • Knowledge and ability to follow and work from blueprints, sketches, verbal instructions and/or written work orders with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding and ability to conform to written power lockout procedures.
  • Ability to perform duties efficiently and calmly during critical “down time” situations.
  • Willingness and ability to attend training classes or seminars that may require out of town and/or over night travel.
  • Possess and maintain a good attendance and work record.
