About The Position

The Foundry Worker will play a vital role in the casting process, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment, the preparation and monitoring of molds, and the quality control of finished products. This role requires a strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety protocols, and a collaborative attitude within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; related experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technique and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to work in a hot and physically demanding environment.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a foundry or metal casting environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of different metal alloys, melting temperatures, and casting techniques is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Housekeeping, preparing box furnace and cleaning fixtures for mold.
  • Mold Preparation: Prepare molds, maintain molds, including cleaning, repairing, and patching, to ensure consistent product quality and extend mold life.
  • Inspect molds for defects, such as cracks, surface imperfections, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Material Handling: Safely handle and transport raw materials and finished castings using appropriate equipment and protocols.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and participate in regular safety meetings and training.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate foundry equipment, such as furnaces, ladles, following operational procedures and performing routine maintenance tasks.
  • Documentation: Accurately record production data, material usage, and quality control information for each casting run.
