About The Position

Align personnel and equipment with work tasks to ensure the safe, quality, and efficient installation of solar arrays, while overseeing both construction and electrical crews to drive project success.

Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate electrical qualification through a minimum of 8,000 hours of documented electrical work from previous employer or through Knobelsdorff.
  • Lead, in an organization of similar or greater complexities with the capacity to understand and manage multiple projects, multiple customers and personnel.
  • Eagerness to advance to the next level and assist in the growth of the industrial team.
  • Good critical thinking skills and the capability to troubleshoot and make logical project-minded decisions.
  • Knowledge of electrical, and/or photovoltaic (solar) construction
  • Self-starter & team player
  • Must be available to travel extensively (up to 100%) within regional states, including overnight stays for up to weeks at a time if required.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that represents a history of safe & competent driving.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Construction Manager with the creation of goal hours for the installation of the site. Ensure daily work assignments align with goals.
  • Create the daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) by recognizing and analyzing risks associated with construction activities. Ensure each member of the team is familiar with hazards and with steps to mitigate risks.
  • Through a daily toolbox talk discuss works expectations and safety concerns with the team, specifically covering the prepared JSA.
  • In coordination with the Construction Manager, create a staging plan for materials on site. Direct Operators and the Site Coordinator through the plan to ensure the crew is set up for a successful and efficient installation.
  • In coordination with the Site Coordinator, maintain situational awareness of the Bill of Materials (BOM), and ensure daily work plans align with material availability. Assist with identifying shortfalls and ensure the Site Coordinator is communicating shortfalls in material and timeline of needs to the Construction Manager and the Project Management Team.
  • Layout work and team assignments to drive efficiencies of installation. Ensure daily work assignments align with overall site goals.
  • Ensure team members have a complete understanding of tasks assigned to include safety hazards and steps to mitigate risks, quality requirements, and efficiency expectations.
  • Assign leads for tasks each day. Delegate responsibility to your leads and drive safety, efficiency, and quality expectations through team leads down to your crew.
  • Assist in the creation of company installation and safety standard procedures and best practices. Educate crew members on procedures.
  • Ensure crew members have access to construction drawings and are referencing them during installation.
  • Assist team leads in interpreting drawings and cut sheets as necessary to ensure proper installation of solar array components.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to the Electrical Foreman and electrical crew, ensuring alignment with project goals, safety standards, and efficiency expectations.
  • Ensure Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections, equipment inspections, and field inspections are completed and documented as required.
  • Support quality and punch list reviews by helping remediate issues and ensuring corrective actions are implemented to prevent similar errors in the future.
  • Field and resolve questions from site personnel, subcontractors, and stakeholders to support clear communication and smooth operations.
  • Participate actively in project closeout activities, including documentation, punch list resolution, final inspections, and turnover.
  • Assist the Construction Manager with schedule updates, ensuring progress is accurately reflected and communicated.
  • Provide support to the Construction Manager as needed, including coordination across teams and troubleshooting emerging issues.
