General Engineering Technician / Technologist

Lumiere SystemsEagle Mountain, UT

About The Position

This role demonstrates advanced technical expertise in automation systems supporting commissioning, startup, and operations for power and energy infrastructure, such as BESS, substations, and generation assets. The position involves applying specialized knowledge to ensure safe and efficient commissioning and system turnover, including managing costs and field resources. It also supports the development and execution of commissioning plans, procedures, and automation test protocols, and involves preparing and delivering technical briefings and readiness reviews to project leadership and cross-functional teams. A strong working knowledge of industry standards, commissioning practices, and operational requirements is essential. The role requires interpreting and anticipating project risks, integration issues, and system performance gaps, and providing solutions to enhance reliability and operability. Collaboration with various departments and OEMs is key to ensuring compliance, developing corrective action plans, and supporting operator training. The position serves as a technical lead for commissioning-related automation standards, including control system configuration, logic validation, alarm management, and SCADA integration. Additionally, it supports cybersecurity initiatives, control system patching, and hardware lifecycle management during commissioning and operational transition. The role also contributes to the Approved Manufacturer List (AML) by validating automation equipment performance and compatibility, and provides field troubleshooting and real-time support for PLC/DCS/HMI-related issues. Continuous improvement of commissioning processes is a core expectation.
