About The Position

The General Dentist provides general dentistry services, including diagnosis and treatment of diseases, injuries, and malformations of the teeth, gums, and related oral structures. The role examines patients, performs dental procedures, provides preventive care and oral-hygiene education, and coordinates laboratory services for the dental office. The dentist follows safety protocols, participates in office huddles and meetings, and performs other duties permitted under applicable state laws and regulations.

The position calls for a commitment to quality patient care, patient education, and effective, courteous communication.

Requirements

• DDS or DMD degree.
• Licensed in the state where practicing, or able to obtain licensure upon graduation.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
• Commitment to quality patient care and educating patients about dental health.
• Effective communication skills and a professional, courteous demeanor with patients.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a general practice residency (GPR) or advanced education in general dentistry residency (AEGD).

Responsibilities

• Provide general dentistry services, including diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting teeth, gums, and related oral structures.
• Examine patients using X-rays, dental instruments, and other diagnostic procedures to determine the nature of their conditions.
• Clean, fill, extract, and replace teeth using dental instruments, appliances, medications, and surgical implements.
• Provide preventive dental services and educate patients about oral and dental hygiene.
• Coordinate laboratory services for the dental office.
• Follow safety protocols, ensure protective equipment is used, and comply with OSHA and bloodborne pathogen requirements.
• Participate in morning huddles, chart reviews, and routine office meetings.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities allowed under applicable state laws and regulations.
