About The Position

Saskatoon Co-op is seeking a part-time General Clerk for their Rosthern location. This role reports to the Store Manager and involves a variety of customer service, stocking, operational, and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be dependable, and possess strong communication and customer service skills. The position requires the ability to work independently, handle merchandise, operate equipment safely, and manage point-of-sale systems. Flexibility in working hours, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends, is necessary. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Have or be willing to obtain Serve It Right Saskatchewan.
  • Possess sufficient knowledge and experience of merchandise handled to effectively operate the section(s) assigned.
  • Be familiar with all lines of merchandise handled by the site.
  • Have strong communication skills, be service-oriented and motivated.
  • Be capable of assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Be prepared to increase product knowledge and improve merchandising techniques through special courses, product clinics, seminars, and training sessions.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision and direction while achieving a high level of production.
  • Physical ability to handle the work to be assigned.
  • Must be able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
  • A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive, professional approach and attitude.
  • Be dependable for all scheduled shifts.
  • Provide outstanding courteous customer service.
  • Stock, display, and merchandise products according to Saskatoon Co-op Policy and Procedures.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly location.
  • Perform order receiving duties when required.
  • Operate and maintain the forklift, pallet jack, and other equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures.
  • Be responsible for Loss Prevention.
  • Effectively operate the point-of-sale system and understand back-office functions.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to all Saskatoon Co-op Policies and Procedures.
  • Provide pump assistance as required.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned by the store manager.
  • Perform necessary daily reconciliations and reports, as directed by the store manager.
  • Be responsible for general maintenance and equipment up-keep, as directed by the store manager.
  • Contribute to the sales of Liquor products (if 19+ years of age).
  • Handle and prepare/serve fresh food.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
