About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to perform cleaning activities at an assigned facility and maintain it in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition. The role includes cleaning and sanitizing rooms, bathrooms, floors, grounds, public common areas, and food-court areas; inspecting completed work; and providing courteous customer service. Additional duties may be assigned by a supervisor or Account Manager, including floor care such as stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor scrubbing and buffing.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices and use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals in accordance with MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
Ability to maintain the physical condition needed to perform assigned duties, including extended walking, standing, or sitting; lifting and carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, and fingering.
Sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination sufficient to perform cleaning tasks, operate equipment, use tools, and maintain safety.

Responsibilities

High-dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, vents, ledges, and window areas.
Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height and spot-clean fingerprints, smudges, and windows.
Clean bathrooms, toilets, sinks, soap dispensers, and paper dispensers; refill dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, wipe them when necessary, and replace liners.
Dust-mop or vacuum floors, including under furniture, and sanitize floors as assigned.
Clean and inspect outdoor areas, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curbs, parking lots, benches, vending machines, and public-area glass.
Dust-mop and spot-mop public hallways, clean glass, maintain planters, and check for cobwebs and debris.
Clean and sanitize food-court tables, spot-clean spills, empty trash, clean trays using a tray power washer, and police outdoor eating areas.
Inspect completed work, check furniture placement, and make corrections as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Provide courteous customer service, report broken or out-of-order items to a supervisor, work quietly, and remain in the assigned work area unless directed otherwise.
Report incomplete assignments to a supervisor at the end of the shift and maintain a clean, neat appearance.
Perform other assigned duties, which may include floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor scrubbing and buffing.
