About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to clean and maintain assigned facilities in a sanitary and orderly condition and perform other related tasks. The work includes cleaning high and low surfaces, bathrooms, floors, public and common areas, food court spaces, and outdoor grounds. The cleaner is also expected to provide courteous customer service, report maintenance issues, follow safe work practices, and complete other duties assigned by a supervisor or Account Manager, which may include specialized floor and carpet care.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices and the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals in accordance with MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and interpret cleaning-chemical instructions and warning labels.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to maintain the physical condition required to perform assigned duties, including extended periods of walking, standing, or sitting; lifting and carrying 1–30 lbs.; pushing and pulling with 5–35 lbs. of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; reaching and handling equipment and tools, including overhead reaching; and using sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

High dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, vents, ledges, and window areas.
Sanitize and spot-clean surfaces below shoulder height; remove fingerprints and smudges and spot-clean windows.
Clean bathrooms, including sinks and toilets, and check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, replace liners, and wipe cans when needed.
Dust mop or vacuum floors, including under furniture, and dispose of collected dust.
Clean outdoor grounds, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curb lines, and parking lots; spot-clean spills, remove gum, and wipe benches, vending machines, and window ledges.
Maintain public common areas by dust mopping and spot mopping hallways, cleaning glass and planters, and checking for cobwebs and debris.
Clean food court tables and trash cans, sanitize tables, return chairs to their places, remove dirty trays, clean trays with a tray power washer, and police outdoor eating areas.
Sanitize floors using the appropriate germicidal solution.
Inspect completed rooms, check furniture placement, and correct issues as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Knock before entering occupied rooms, assist customers courteously or refer questions, and report broken or out-of-order items to a supervisor.
Work quietly, remain in the assigned area unless directed otherwise, maintain a neat personal appearance, and report unfinished assignments to a supervisor.
Perform other assigned duties, potentially including floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.
