About The Position

The Knight Cardiovascular Institute (KCVI) is recognized as a top integrated center for cardiovascular clinical care, translational research and professional training in all aspects of heart and vascular disease. Guided by a multi-disciplinary approach, researchers and clinicians drive a vibrant translational research program, which focuses on delivering the latest knowledge and cutting-edge care to patients. Specifically, research at KCVI seeks to improve patient outcomes by achieving earlier diagnosis of disease, more accurate monitoring of its progression, and tailoring therapy to the molecular basis of disease.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed MD/DO
  • Active DEA Certification
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience practicing in an academic health facility is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Medical management of patients with chronic or acute heart disease in ambulatory and inpatient settings.
  • Primary responsibilities in the ambulatory clinic as part of a large collaborative group including physicians, APPs, and an excellent support team.
  • Inpatient duties approximately 8 weeks per year, with most call limited to those weeks.
  • Participation in cardiovascular imaging, primarily focused on echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
  • Teaching of medical students, residents, fellows.
  • Supervision of and collaboration with APPs.
  • Participation in scholarly activity.
  • Provide mentorship and direction to students, residents, fellows and staff.
  • Explore research opportunities in your area of focus.
  • Administrative duties may be assigned in support of Institute or section initiatives, faculty development and/or other activities as determined necessary.
