About The Position

Requirements

Knowledge of retail floor sales techniques.
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
Ability to resolve difficult or stressful customer service issues.
Demonstrated teamwork.
Ability to stand for the majority of a shift.
Ability to lift 25 to 75 pounds to move merchandise and participate physically in resets, remodels, and reconstruction projects.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to visual merchandising and product placement techniques is desired.
High school diploma or GED is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers entering the store.
Answer customer questions and provide information about store merchandise.
Sell merchandise and advise customers about prices and product features.
Share product knowledge and recommend alternative or accessory goods.
Advise and assist customers with ordering specialized merchandise.
Offer or participate in customer carry-outs.
Assist with receiving and displaying merchandise according to established policies, procedures, and standards.
Answer telephone calls and handle routine customer inquiries.
Perform floor maintenance and housekeeping, and monitor merchandise condition and safekeeping.
Prepare for and participate in inventory cycle activities.
Move materials using appropriate handling tools and equipment, including by hand, hand truck, pallet jack, dolly, forklift, or other vehicles.
Perform other management-assigned duties related to customer service, merchandising, product handling, and assisting throughout the store.
