About The Position

Group 1 Automotive, Inc. is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Accountant. This role focuses on accounting postings and balance sheet clearance for Group 1 Automotive stores in the United States. The position includes daily accounting reviews and postings, month-end reconciliations, maintaining balance sheet schedules, and completing reserve statements and chargebacks by their due dates. The role follows a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote and may require extended hours at month-end.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
Ability to work extended hours at month-end.

Nice To Haves

Prior dealership accounting experience is preferred but not required.
Experience using CDK is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Review the Activation queue daily to ensure products are active and accounting is correct.
Review cancellations daily.
Perform factory reconciliations at month-end.
Perform floorplan reconciliations at month-end.
Post daily banking activity for assigned dealerships.
Post vehicle-manufacturer statements and invoices monthly.
Post finance and insurance product statements and invoices weekly or monthly.
Post monthly finance reserve statements from lenders.
Assist in maintaining other balance sheet account schedules.
Post bank statements.
Process PID errors.
Review repair orders with products purchased.
Review the Loaner Queue.
Complete reserve statements by monthly due dates and process all chargebacks.
Submit schedules each month with notes on each line item by scheduled monthly due dates.
Perform other duties as assigned.
