Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Pharmacy Technician License
  • At least 1 year experience in pharmacy or customer service environment
  • Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Excel Required.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and provide support to other team members.
  • Detail oriented, ability to prioritize workload, multitask, and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in providing customer service to internal and external customers.

Nice To Haves

  • National Technician Certification
  • Previous Specialty Pharmacy experience

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact with the manufacturer regarding all patient referrals and shipments.
  • Provide real-time communication to the manufacturer on any pending referrals updates and any patient initial and refill shipments.
  • Contact physician’s offices to validate prescriptions, obtain clinical documentation and initial prior authorizations through the insurance plans.
  • Support physician’s offices during any appeals as needed.
  • Contact patients and/or caregivers to schedule a delivery and determine supply needs.
  • Accurately dispense products in the computer system to generate a delivery ticket and/or prescription labels for each shipment.
  • Contact physician offices to coordinate all deliveries.
  • Establish and continually build rapport with patient base.
  • Obtain current prescriptions and clinical documentation that is required by the plans.
  • Validate that the clinical documentation received is what is required by the plan and initiate prior authorization with the plan.
  • Process and verify patient benefits and pay options as needed.
  • Responsible for all data entry into multiple workflow systems for end-to-end order process.
  • Enter and update new and refill orders into workflow systems.
  • Ensure timely processing of all patient orders per committed time frames.
  • Work in collaboration with intake and MD offices.
  • Provide constant communication to the manufacturer about all referrals and active patients.
  • Handle all inbound/making outbound calls to patients, physician offices and plans.
