About The Position

This position is responsible for preparing chemical formulations according to batch records, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work instructions. The technician will accurately weigh, measure, and dispense raw materials, operate mixing equipment, and monitor mixing parameters. They will also be responsible for completing batch records, logs, and traceability documentation, performing in-process checks, and ensuring materials are properly labeled, stored, and transferred. Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO 13485, and FDA-regulated processes, as well as chemical handling, safety, and environmental procedures, is crucial. The role also involves cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas, performing basic troubleshooting, and maintaining inventory. This position is not eligible for employer-visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to work with chemicals (gloves, PPE required)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs raw materials
  • Ability to stand for periods of 8+ hours
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom or controlled environment work
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to follow precise instructions and batch records
  • Safety-conscious with chemical handling
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Strong documentation discipline

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in regulated environment (FDA / ISO / GMP)
  • Familiarity with viscosity testing, pH measurement, or lab-style controls
  • 1–3 years manufacturing experience (chemical, pharma, or medical device preferred)
  • Experience with batch mixing, compounding, or chemical handling strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare chemical formulations according to batch records, SOPs, and work instructions
  • Accurately weigh, measure, and dispense raw materials (liquids, powders, polymers)
  • Operate mixing equipment (e.g., planetary mixers, agitation systems, heating vessels)
  • Monitor mixing parameters (time, temperature, viscosity) and adjust as required
  • Complete batch records, logs, and traceability documentation with accuracy
  • Perform in-process checks (viscosity, pH, conductivity, appearance)
  • Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and transferred to production
  • Follow GMP, ISO 13485, and FDA-regulated processes
  • Adhere to chemical handling, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Support investigations, deviations, and CAPAs when needed
  • Clean and sanitize mixing equipment and work areas (often controlled or clean environment)
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate equipment issues
  • Maintain inventory of raw materials and notify shortages
