Gear Cut & Grind A - 1st Shift MTC
About The Position
This position involves setting up and operating various types of gear manufacturing equipment, including gear cutters, gear grinders, gear shavers, and lapping machines. The role requires producing a wide variety of gears and splines, such as spiral bevel, helical, and hypoid gears, while adhering to extremely close tolerances for setups and work. The individual will also advise and assist in the development of new gears and gear cutting processes, and test and check gears using specialized machines and equipment. Additionally, the role includes setting up and performing grinding on case-hardened surfaces.
Requirements
- Three years’ experience as a Gear Cutter and Grinder
- Two (2) years of related experience
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate all types of gear manufacturing equipment including gear cutters, gear grinders, gear shavers, lapping machines, etc., to produce a wide variety of gears and splines including spiral bevel, helical and hypoid gears.
- Ensure setups and work are held to extremely close tolerances.
- Advise and assist in the development of new gears and gears cutting processes.
- Test and check gears using gear testing and checking machines and equipment.
- Set up and/or perform all grinding on case hardened surfaces.
