About The Position

SMI Security is seeking a professional and experienced Gatehouse Security Officer for a high-traffic residential and commercial property in Highland Beach, Florida. The position involves managing a busy gatehouse, controlling access, and maintaining a secure and welcoming presence while providing excellent customer service. The schedule listed is overnight, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.; full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with schedule details discussed during the interview.

Requirements

• Prior gatehouse security experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume traffic environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to remain alert and attentive during extended shifts.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid Florida Security D License.
• Clean background.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access at the gatehouse entry point.
• Verify resident, visitor, and vendor credentials before granting access.
• Maintain accurate guest logs and use access control systems.
• Conduct vehicle inspections when required by site protocols.
• Ensure visitors and vendors follow property rules and procedures.
• Write clear and detailed daily activity and incident reports.
• Communicate effectively with residents, management, and team members.
• Respond promptly to incidents and follow escalation procedures.
• Maintain a visible, professional presence.
• Enforce site-specific security policies and procedures.
