About The Position
This is a contract, on-site position that offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled physician to provide high-quality gastrointestinal care in a supportive clinical environment. As a Locum Gastroenterologist, you will deliver comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients with digestive and liver conditions. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, technicians, and administrative staff to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and continuity of care throughout the assignment.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of California
- Associate-level experience in gastroenterology clinical practice
- Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures
- Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
- Commitment to patient-centered care and safety
- DEA certification and active malpractice coverage
- Availability for on-site work in Pleasanton

Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders
- Perform endoscopic procedures including upper endoscopy and colonoscopy
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as labs, imaging, and biopsies
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings
- Manage chronic conditions such as IBD, GERD, and liver disease
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic medical records
- Collaborate with primary care physicians and specialists on patient care
- Provide patient education on digestive health and treatment options
- Participate in quality improvement and clinical protocol initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all medical regulations and practice standards
- Maintain timely and thorough clinical documentation
- Support continuity of care throughout the locum assignment
