About The Position
The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is seeking a Gastroenterology Hospitalist to join their established and respected team. This role is ideal for a motivated physician who values collaboration, teaching, and providing the highest quality care to patients. The position offers a dedicated inpatient role focusing exclusively on general GI inpatient consults and endoscopies with a dedicated procedure room every day. There are ample opportunities for teaching fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as engaging in academic and quality-improvement initiatives. Subspecialty support is available from specialists in Advanced Endoscopy (EUS/ERCP), IBD, hepatology, motility, and nutrition support. The physician will partner with GI Fellows to run the GI Inpatient Consult Service.
Requirements
- MD/DO, MD/PhD (or equivalent degree)
- Board certified/board eligible in gastroenterology
- Board certified in internal medicine
- Outstanding communication skills to collaborate with consulting physicians and hospital leadership
Responsibilities
- Focus exclusively on general GI inpatient consults and endoscopies
- Partner with GI Fellows to run the GI Inpatient Consult Service
