About The Position

St. Mary’s Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Gastroenterologist to join our dedicated gastroenterology team. As a vital part of our multidisciplinary healthcare program, you will provide comprehensive GI care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, making a meaningful impact on our patient population. Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of New York
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution
  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and patient-centered empathetic communication skills
  • Adherence to Standard Precautions and utilization of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) are mandatory to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced training in endoscopy or additional subspecialty certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders using evidence-based practices.
  • Perform endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies and upper endoscopies, with opportunities for advanced procedures if trained.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including surgeons, oncologists, and primary care physicians.
  • Provide patient education and counseling, ensuring patients and families understand their diagnosis and treatment options.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols.
  • Stay current with emerging GI treatments and advancements in gastroenterology.
  • Engage in community outreach and education programs to promote gastrointestinal health.
