About The Position
We are seeking a Gastroenterologist for a Locum Tenens position in Charleston, WV. This role involves providing advanced gastroenterology coverage, including ERCP and EUS procedures, within a hospital setting. The position is for clinical coverage only, from October 1, 2026, to April 1, 2027. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with an average patient volume of 9 per day. The role requires collaboration with a team of 9 APPs and numerous RNs and MAs across three GI locations. Responsibilities include managing an outpatient clinic, adding urgent inpatient cases to the schedule, and maintaining patient records in the Cerner EMR system.
Requirements
- Active WV license or Universal License (IMLC)
- Board Certified
- DEA Required
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Hospital Privileges Required
Nice To Haves
- Experience with ERCP (general and therapeutic)
- Experience with EUS
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced gastroenterology coverage including ERCP and EUS procedures.
- Manage outpatient clinic schedule Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm.
- Provide support to the call team by adding urgent inpatient cases to the schedule.
- Collaborate with 9 APPs and support staff across 3 GI locations.
- Maintain accurate patient records in Cerner EMR.
