About The Position

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology is seeking BC/BE Gastroenterologists to diagnose and treat a wide range of GI conditions. This full-time role is based at Froedtert/MCW and The Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The position involves performing various diagnostic procedures, including colonoscopies, endoscopies, and EGDs, in partnership with anesthesiology services. The role offers robust support from strong, collaborative teams within the Gastroenterology and Hepatology programs, including specialties like liver transplant, colorectal surgery, and hepatobiliary surgery. The average workload includes 16-18 outpatient procedures per day, with inpatient and outpatient support provided by advanced practice providers. The position emphasizes a healthy work/life balance with a shared call schedule.

Requirements

Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) from an accredited institution
Board certification (or eligibility) in Gastroenterology
State medical licensure, or eligibility to obtain state licensure in the state of Wisconsin

Responsibilities

Diagnose and treat a wide range of GI conditions
Perform colonoscopies, endoscopies, EGDs, and various other diagnostic procedures
Provide inpatient and outpatient support
Participate in a shared call schedule
