About The Position

Centra Medical Group is seeking a Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to join their team at Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Virginia. Farmville is conveniently located within driving distance of metropolitan areas like Lynchburg, Richmond, and Charlottesville, as well as the Blue Ridge Mountains and the coast.

Requirements

• Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Gastroenterologist
• Completion of medical degree and residency training in Gastroenterology
• MD/DO with certification by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board in physician’s primary specialty
• Must be Board Certified or in the process of certifying

Nice To Haves

• ERCP experience a plus
• 5 years’ experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm schedule
• Pager call daily 8am-4pm plus 10 days/month of 24/7 call and 1 weekend of call
• Procedure days every morning 8am-12pm M-F, with additional procedures on Wednesday afternoons (caseload approximately 11-15/day)
• Clinic in the afternoons 4 days/week, seeing approximately 8 patients/day
• Annual scope volume is approximately 2,200/year
• Manage 2-4 new in-patient consults/day, which may require follow-up
• Work within a fully supported practice with nurses and 2 APPs
