About The Position
Wellstone Health Partners, a multi-specialty group affiliated with Seton Medical Center Harker Heights, is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified general gastroenterologist or an advanced endoscopy-trained gastroenterologist to join an established employed practice in Harker Heights, Texas. The community has a service area of approximately 500,000. The GI team includes one physician with advanced endoscopy training and two advanced practice providers, supported by experienced clinical staff and a dedicated medical assistant. The role includes inpatient and outpatient care. Endoscopy laboratory blocks are scheduled Monday through Friday mornings, with outpatient clinical visits in the afternoons. Providers may work in the GI laboratory up to five days per week based on preference. Advanced procedures, including ERCP and EUS, are available. On-call coverage is 10 days per month, with additional compensation for excess call shifts. The practice is located on the Seton Medical Center Harker Heights campus. The 83-bed acute care hospital offers a range of services and is Joint Commission accredited, an Accredited Chest Pain Center, and an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. It was rated an “A” safety facility by The Leapfrog Group in Spring 2024. Harker Heights is in Central Texas, approximately 70 miles north of Austin and 148 miles south of Dallas. The community offers schools, colleges and universities, outdoor recreation, and access to major cities and airports.
Requirements
- Board-eligible or board-certified in gastroenterology.
- Qualified as a general gastroenterologist or trained in advanced endoscopy.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology care.
- Perform endoscopy procedures, with advanced procedures such as ERCP and EUS available.
- Participate in endoscopy laboratory sessions and outpatient clinical visits.
- Provide on-call coverage for 10 days per month; excess call shifts receive additional compensation.
