About The Position

The Physician/Gastroenterologist provides comprehensive medical care to patients with digestive and gastrointestinal diseases and disorders. The role evaluates and diagnoses patients, develops treatment plans, provides appropriate follow-up care, monitors patient progress, and adjusts treatment plans as needed. Communication with other physicians, staff, and patients is important to ensure patient needs are met effectively and efficiently.

Requirements

• Current DEA License.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Current California Physician License.
• Completion of a residency program in Gastroenterology.
• Minimum 3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose or treat digestive and gastrointestinal diseases and disorders.
• Document or review patients' histories.
• Order and interpret the results of diagnostic tests.
• Perform diagnostic procedures, such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and biopsies.
• Examine patients using equipment such as radiograph (x-ray) machines and fluoroscopes to determine the nature and extent of a disorder or injury.
• Prescribe or administer medications and treatments to patients.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and ensure appropriate follow-up care.
• Communicate with other physicians, staff, and patients to meet patient needs effectively and efficiently.
