Full Time Gas Station Attendant
About The Position
The Gas Station Attendant is responsible for the daily operation of the gas station, including opening and closing procedures, monitoring and maintaining equipment, assisting members with transactions and payments, and following safety, environmental, and security standards. The role also includes overseeing fuel deliveries, completing reporting and checklist procedures, maintaining cleanliness, handling cash procedures, and ensuring gas prices and signage match the point-of-sale system. The attendant supports BJ’s member service and club standards, works with team members to maintain a safe and positive environment, and may perform duties in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional member service and promptly assist members with gas station transactions while ensuring the safety of people, property, and the environment.
- Monitor gas station sales transactions and handle cash transactions when applicable.
- Maintain restroom cleanliness and perform custodial duties as needed.
- Monitor gas station reporting, ensure reports are generated, complete checklist procedures, and document and address identified issues.
- Accurately complete all opening and closing procedures.
- Regularly monitor and maintain gas station equipment.
- Oversee fuel deliveries and complete required preparation procedures.
- Follow gas station safety, security, and environmental standards, and inform management and the help desk when alarms are present.
- Perform cash drawer procedures, including deposits, verification, documentation, and control procedures.
- Conduct daily competitive price surveys and ensure posted gas prices and club signage match the pricing in the point-of-sale system.
- Follow spill bucket and spilled-material procedures, including immediate response and cleanup.
- Log visitors and verify proper identification before allowing access to the kiosk area.
- Notify the corporate office of non-routine maintenance vendor visits, including visits by weights and measures personnel, inspectors, and state employees.
- Maintain club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
- Support club standards by helping keep items stocked, promotional plans executed, signage accurate, and areas clean and organized.
