About The Position

Southland Co-operative Ltd. is seeking a Student/Casual Gas Bar Attendant I (Clerk I) for their Gas Bar/Convenience Store department in Assiniboia, SK. This role involves providing excellent customer service, performing various housekeeping duties both inside and outside the store, assisting with product management including ordering, receiving, and display when a Clerk II is absent, and executing opening and closing procedures. The attendant will also be responsible for maintaining C-Store price files, dispensing various fuels (gasoline, diesel, propane), cleaning and maintaining machines (e.g., slush, hot dog, coffee), ensuring a well-merchandised front end, operating the point of sale terminal, and adhering to safety protocols and company policies. Requirements

  • Able to work a variety of shifts.

  • Physically able to do heavy lifting.
  • Able to work outdoors.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment testing as per Southland’s Alcohol & Substance Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to customers, by assisting customers, and providing information and product knowledge, which is maintained through being dependable for all scheduled shifts.
  • To perform interior/exterior housekeeping duties.
  • Assist in ordering, receiving, and displaying of product as set by the guidelines of C-Store Manager when Clerk II is absent.
  • To perform opening and closing procedures as directed by manager.
  • Responsible for maintaining C-Store price files.
  • Dispense gasolines, diesel fuel and propane.
  • To clean, fill and maintain all machines, example: slush, hot dog, coffee, etc.
  • Responsible for providing a neat, clean and well merchandised front end at all times.
  • Operate point of sale terminal.
  • To operate and maintain equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • To be responsible in the area of loss prevention.
  • To assist in daily environmental checks when Clerk II is absent.
  • To be familiar with and adhere to Southland Co-op policies and procedures.
