About The Position

The Landscaping Technician/Gardener manages landscape operations across more than 140 acres of Kiawah Island Golf Resort property. The role includes landscape improvements and enhancements, as well as daily maintenance across resort facilities and grounds, including an oceanfront hotel, golf course clubhouses, tennis facilities, a public park, pool complexes, recreation fields and amenities, retail and common areas, maintenance buildings, and beach access boardwalks. The position reports to the Director of Landscaping and is performed onsite. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with occasional Saturday work; during spring, summer, and fall, the schedule is 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Related-field experience may be considered for higher pay compensation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.
• At least 6 months of experience in a related field.
• At least 6 months in a full-time position within one position.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good to excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Valid driver’s license and personal transportation to and from the resort.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds across short to medium distances.
• Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift while bending, stretching, and lifting.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, including light rain or extreme heat.
• Ability to work onsite due to the daily needs of the job.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance, including policing grounds for trash, litter, and debris; maintaining planting and enhancement beds; installing enhancement beds; pruning; mowing; chemical application; and irrigation maintenance.
• Learn landscape maintenance operations.
• Uphold the resort’s core values, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
