About The Position

The Gardener I maintains the safety, cleanliness, and appearance of outdoor areas across Kettering Health facilities, supporting a welcoming and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role performs grounds maintenance tasks including lawn care, landscaping, seasonal snow and ice removal, and equipment upkeep in accordance with safety and regulatory standards. Other duties may be assigned. Responsibilities are carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No specific experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.
• Valid driver's license.
• A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required when operating regulated motor equipment, in accordance with Ohio state law.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance in a healthcare or institutional setting.
• Ohio Pesticide Applicator's License if performing chemical applications.
