About The Position
Interstate Waste Services is hiring Garbage Truck-Collection Helpers in Bernardsville, NJ. This role offers a starting pay of $18.54/hr plus overtime. For individuals aiming to become commercial drivers, this position can serve as a stepping stone, with the potential to be placed in a Helper to CDL Driver training program after one year of service. The work is steady year-round, Monday through Friday, with an early start time of 5:00 am. Requirements
- Must meet physical standards.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Team-player attitude.
- Steady employment history.
- History of showing up and being on-time for work every day.
Nice To Haves
- Experience from the sanitation industry is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collect (primarily by hand) and load refuse from customer locations into a heavy-duty sanitation vehicle.
- Transfer refuse in a timely and safe manner from customer stops to vehicle.
- Assist the driver while maneuvering into positions for collection and disposal.
- Maintain and partake in daily clean-up of vehicle.
- Learn garbage routes to better assist driver.
- Attend all required training, operational meetings, and mandatory monthly Safety Meetings.
