About The Position
Waste Connections is hiring a Local Garbage Truck Driver at its South Austin, Texas site near the airport. The driver works with another driver on specified residential routes to collect solid waste and transport it to appropriate disposal sites. This is a physically demanding driver/driver team position that includes taking turns working on the back of the garbage truck. The schedule starts at 6 a.m. Monday through Friday, with workdays typically lasting 10 or more hours.
Requirements
- Class A or B CDL.
- Clean driving record.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to lift 65 pounds throughout a 10+ hour shift.
Responsibilities
- Drive a residential garbage truck with another driver on specified routes.
- Collect solid waste and transport it to appropriate disposal sites.
- Take turns working on the back of the garbage truck.
