About The Position

This position is responsible for managing the safety and environmental programs for the shop facility, along with assisting in the training and certifications with the technician training program. This individual will maintain computers and testing locations within the facility, along with assist in coordinating shop training with on-boarding new technology. In addition, this position will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of the in-service and decommissioning of new equipment through the shop facility. Including working in collaboration with the transportation asset manager, parts material supervisor, and shift supervisors to ensure efficient in-service/decommissioning of Tyson equipment.

Requirements

  • Requires education beyond high school, including special training, vocational school and/or college courses.
  • Previous management experience a plus.
  • Experience in diesel repair or industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Requires basic computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal written and presentation skills.
  • This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and or interrelated tasks and activities.
  • Minimal travel.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and executing monthly safety meeting, along with maintaining the safety charter documents (DEKRA).
  • Coordinating and leading the maintenance council recordings and implementations.
  • Overseeing PM schedules for building equipment and verifying they are completed and recorded for shop records and are following OSHA standards for compliance. i.e chain hoist, compressors, oil pumps, heaters, jacks, lifts, forklifts, etc.
  • Detailed record of shop personnel around TM training.
  • Team member will conduct new team member orientation and assist shift supervisors with follow up evaluations at 30, 60, & 90 days.
  • Assist shop personnel with payroll, leave of absence, or team member needs.
  • Coordinate with inspectors from respective financial institutions, on-site visits, writeups and meeting operational deadlines to avoid excessive charges/penalties.
  • Team member will also fill in for shift supervisors during vacation/time-off.
