Requirements

  • High School/GED required.
  • Two years of mechanic trade school or five years of recent full-time experience as a mechanic required.
  • Must pass the EEi Construction and Skilled Trades Test (CAST).
  • Class A CDL required or ability to obtain in six months
  • Applicable state inspection license required; must be able to inspect Class 7 vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability in diesel truck repair preferred; hydraulic and air brake experience also preferred.
  • Experience with automotive scan equipment/computer scan tools preferred.
  • Must live or be willing to relocate during the 6-month probationary period within a 30-minute drive time of the reporting work location.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to meet job knowledge and skill requirements will be determined by company interviews and tests. Must be able to perform safely and proficiently all the duties of lower classifications.
  • Ability to perform physical work under various conditions including lifting and positioning heavy parts and equipment while working under cars or in an upright work position. Mechanical aptitude for garage work.
  • Working knowledge of company methods and routines applicable to garage work.
  • Ability to prepare legible and accurate records and reports.
  • Meet company standards in regard to physical fitness, personal conduct and appearance, attendance, work performance, safety practices, and supervision required.
  • Possess the appropriate motor vehicle operator's license, be able to operate motor vehicles safety.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of vehicle and inspection laws.
  • Employee must possess State Motor Vehicle Inspection License.
  • Ability to effectively apply safety rules and regulations
