About The Position

Responsible for the overall repair and maintenance of all slot machines and electronic gaming devices. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing all types of slot machines and associated equipment to the component level. The technician will assist in connecting wires for data and progressive systems, and programming controllers. They will maintain a library of technical manuals and customer notices, and a stock of spare parts to minimize equipment downtime. The position requires repairing, overhauling, and performing preventative maintenance on slot machines to ensure optimal operation. Responsibilities also include floor maintenance, high limit and third-time machine fills, and the initial set-up and check-out of new slot machines. The technician will supervise the breakdown, relocation, and re-setup of machines. A thorough understanding of local gaming laws and property internal controls is necessary. The role requires a working knowledge of processes, testing, software, and hardware setups of various equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and sign/engraving machines. Promoting positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service is essential. The position also aims to create an atmosphere of fun for guests and encourage mutual respect, dignity, and integrity among employees by setting positive examples.

Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • One-year slot technician experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex of documents, such as technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to leverage technical expertise to fully understand and meet the finance department’s technical and reporting needs and requirements.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a strong relationship with casino technical staff.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to specify and develop queries/reports using a range of software.
  • Ability to think logically and follow detailed instructions.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally 100 lbs.
  • Must regularly push, pull, and maneuver gaming devices, up to 100 pounds, for the purpose of installation, repair or maintenance.
  • May occasionally be required to climb a twelve (12) foot ladder.
  • Applicants must successfully complete screening for essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a working library of all technical manuals and customer notices issued by the venders to ensure compliance.
  • Maintains a working stock of spare parts to minimize equipment down time due to equipment failure.
  • Repairs, overhauls, and maintains proper preventative maintenance of all slot machines to ensure optimal operation.
  • Handles floor maintenance and repair, and all high limit and third time machine fills.
  • Handles the initial set-up and check-out of new slot machines.
  • Supervises the breakdown, relocation, and re-setup of machines and stands to be relocated.
  • Maintains current knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, compact, etc.) and attendant regulations, as well as property internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of all processes, testing, software, and hardware setups of various equipment including, but not limited to, pallet jack, forklift, and sign/engraving machines.
  • Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service.
  • Creates an atmosphere of fun for all casino guests.
  • Encourages mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all employees, by setting positive examples at all times.
