About The Position
Story Land is seeking an outgoing and service-oriented Games Host to provide fast and courteous service to guests. This role involves assisting guests in retail locations, operating POS equipment, maintaining merchandise, and ensuring a clean and safe environment. Additionally, the Games Host will provide a fun and interactive experience for guests playing games, explaining rules, and maintaining the game area. The position is based in retail locations within the park, with exposure to indoor and outdoor environments and variable weather conditions. This is a seasonal opportunity focused on making people happy and creating memorable experiences.
Requirements
- Must be at least 14 years of age to comply with New Hampshire Child Labor Laws
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift
- Ability to comply with all uniform policies
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
- Ability to positively engage with guests to promote sales and customer satisfaction
- Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently
Nice To Haves
- Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus
- Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) technology and PCI compliance a plus
Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet all guests with a smile as they enter retail locations
- Initiate conversations with guests and assist with any questions they may have regarding our merchandise or souvenirs
- Maintain a general knowledge of all available merchandise to assist guests with questions regarding our products
- Attempt to increase revenue by utilizing various sales techniques, such as suggestive selling or upselling
- Resolve guest concerns in a courteous and prompt manner
- Promptly communicate potential issues or complaints to retail or park leadership, as needed
- Operate all POS equipment accurately to finalize all purchases
- Ensure merchandise is well stocked, organized, and presentable
- Refold or rehang clothing items as necessary
- Ensure the retail locations are clean and safe for our guests
- Operate mobile retail carts, when applicable
- Ensure that the retail space is free of tripping hazards or any other threats that could potentially injure a guest or another employee
- Providing a fun and interactive experience while the guests are playing
- Provide clear and accurate explanations of game rules or directions
- Encourage players but never assists the player in winning or tell them how to win
- Maintain game area in a neat, organized, and clean manner
- Ensure that game area remains properly stocked
- Promptly notify leadership of any guest complaints, maintenance issues, or emergencies
- All other duties assigned by leadership
