Freelance Game LQA Tester (English → Portuguese)
About The Position
TransPerfect Games is a leading provider of bespoke and flexible video game services. We support studios worldwide with solutions like localization & functional testing, certification testing, focus groups and playtesting, player support and community management, cybersecurity and penetration testing, tool development, art design, game writing, GDPR consultancy, and voice-over recording. As an English-to-Portuguese Game LQA Tester, you’ll be a key part of our localization team—helping games truly feel right for Portuguese-speaking players. You’ll revise and perform LQA while collaborating closely with developers and localization project managers to ensure linguistic quality, consistency, and cultural relevance. Your work will help bring unforgettable gaming experiences to millions of players worldwide.
Requirements
- Native-level Portuguese and fluent English.
- 2+ years of experience in LQA testing (English ↔ Portuguese).
- Strong cultural understanding of both English- and Portuguese-speaking markets.
- Comfortable with localization tools and content management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach in cross-functional teams.
- Passion for gaming and awareness of mobile gaming trends.
Nice To Haves
- Background in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform LQA (Language Quality Assurance) to spot and fix grammar, spelling, terminology, and style issues.
- Proofread and review in‑game text, UI interface, dialogue scripts, and other localized content to ensure linguistic accuracy and consistency.
- Identify, document, and report language‑related issues, including translation errors, inappropriate contextual usage, display anomalies, and formatting problems.
- Validate the overall quality and naturalness of localized content, ensuring it reads fluently and resonates with the target audience while maintaining fidelity to the source.
- Preserve the tone and voice of the original content, adapting where needed for cultural expectations.
- Join creative discussions and offer linguistic input to support narrative development and avoid cultural pitfalls.
- Partner with the LPM team to support timelines, deliverables, and linguistic resources.
