About The Position

This position involves assisting faculty with the technical training of students in Creative Technologies courses. Graduate Assistants will support work in various digital mediums, including games, sound, music, recording, mixing and mastering, video, web, motion graphics, programming, interactivity, 2D/3D, animation, and/or live performance. The role may also require assisting students outside of class in a laboratory setting. The primary duties of the graduate teaching assistant are in support of instruction.

Requirements

Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook
Must be a degree seeking graduate student at Illinois State University
For teaching assistant positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language
Familiarity with one of the following digital mediums: sound, music, recording, mixing and mastering, video, web, motion graphics, programming, interactivity, 2D/3D, animation, live performance

Responsibilities

Serve as a primary or secondary teaching instructor in a class or laboratory
Assist a faculty member with teaching-related tasks
Grade student assignments which require knowledge of subjects taught in a class or laboratory
Meet with and/or tutor students, hold office hours, prepare instructional materials, and assist during class and/or lab
