About The Position

The Grind & Inject (G&I) Lead Operator will work at a facility on the North Slope of Alaska that processes various wastes from drilling, completion, and production operations. This facility supports drilling, completion, and production operations by processing wastes such as drill cuttings, flow back fluids, vessel clean outs, pigging wastes, and sump clean outs, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements for injection. The facility is also equipped for occasional truck rinses to maximize onsite truck availability and can support temporary or exploration rigs as needed. Requirements

  • 10 years of Alaska North Slope Drilling and/or Production Operations
  • Minimum 5 years field leadership experience
  • Recent experience with drilled/production solids processing and slurrification
  • High-pressure pumping operations experience
  • Experience operating, troubleshooting and maintaining equipment (Shakers, grinding mills, centrifugal pumps, triplex pumps)
  • Knowledge of waste slurry property requirements and treatment methods
  • Direct knowledge of regulatory reporting and requirements related to operating a “Class 1” waste injection well
  • Basic computer soft skills
  • NSTC certification, including latest Alaska Safety Handbook update

Nice To Haves

  • Current, or previous, Supervisor-level Surface Stack Well Control Certification
  • Current Redbook certification
  • Experience leading and coordinating field operations in isolated and remote locations
  • Facility modifications, removal/install of equipment and process material, commissioning process systems

Responsibilities

  • General support of Maintenance and commissioning
  • Install prefab piping, inspect pumps, mechanical checks, and prepare equipment for operations
  • Support material logistics, offloading trucks, shaking out materials, etc
  • Review, revise and create procedures, safety assessments and record-keeping documents
  • Generate and distribute daily activity reports
  • Safely support general field activity as needed
  • Provide operational leadership and coordinate the daily efforts of the rest of the ops crew
  • Oversee the processing system, including operating the high-pressure injection equipment
  • Mentor, train and perform OJT for newer operators
  • Lead maintenance activities as required
  • Review and check all waste regulatory and compliance paperwork before allowing any offloading operations at the facility
