About The Position

The Future Leaders Program – Management (Plumbing) at EMCO Corporation is an accelerated, hands-on management development program designed for recent university or college graduates. This program provides a comprehensive, end-to-end understanding of how to run a business within the wholesale distribution industry, specifically focusing on plumbing products. Participants will gain practical experience through rotations in various departments, including warehouse and customer service, customer relationships and procurement, account management and sales, and leadership and operations. The ultimate goal is to prepare individuals for a Profit Centre Manager role, where they will be responsible for growing sales, profitability, market share, leading a team, and managing all aspects of a business location. EMCO Corporation is one of Canada's largest wholesale distributors with 120 years of experience, providing essential plumbing, HVAC, waterworks, and industrial products.

Requirements

  • Recent university or college graduates (all disciplines welcome)
  • Positive attitude, results-driven mindset, and a desire to learn
  • Strong leadership, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and the ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates
  • Interest in sales and business development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Rotate through a structured, four-phase program designed to give full visibility into how a successful business operates — from supply chain and operations to sales, leadership, and strategy.
  • Own projects, manage accounts, build customer relationships, and make real business decisions.
  • Gain hands-on experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
  • Develop product knowledge and vendor coordination skills.
  • Handle customer service and counter sales.
  • Learn about pricing, credit, financial statements, and logistics.
  • Understand how products move from supplier to customer.
  • Build strong customer and vendor relationships.
  • Manage larger projects and complex orders.
  • Read blueprints and develop material quotes.
