About The Position

This role involves learning, performing, and rotating between various positions such as packer, scaler, styler, and grader. The primary goal is to maintain product line speeds at the designated rate for each product. The position requires working on a moving conveyor belt using both hands to spread or style product, perform different types of packing and weighing, pull bones from product, and inspect and remove product that does not meet standards. Team participation is crucial, including involvement in team concepts, programs, policies, and fostering cohesiveness. Familiarity with Simmons' operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN) is expected, along with understanding the impact of individual actions and communicating concerns or improvement ideas. This role also includes performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Requirements

Must be able to move, push or pull up to 55 pounds from table to scales at waist level.
Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, stand and work in a cold, wet, noisy, dusty environment for the entire shift.
Must be able to perform repetitive motion.
May include rotating through cold and hot areas of the plant.
Must wear standard waterproof gloves, sleeves, hearing protection, and slip-resistant footwear.
Ability to make good decisions.
Ability to communicate effectively with others and the leadership team.

Nice To Haves

Preference for poultry or food processing organization experience.

Responsibilities

Learn, perform, and rotate between the positions of packer, scaler, styler, and grader.
Maintain line speeds on any given product at the designated rate for that product.
Work on a moving conveyor belt using both hands.
Spread or style product by hand on the belt.
Perform multiple types of packing and weighing.
Pull bones from product.
Inspect, grade, and remove product that does not meet standards.
Participate as a member of the Team, fostering cohesiveness and resolving issues.
Be familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems and the position’s role in supporting them.
Communicate concerns and improvement ideas regarding operating systems.
Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
