Maintenance Tech I VB (Night Shift)
About The Position
Assist in equipment repair and preventative maintenance procedures in the operation of the facility where employed. This role involves repairing, replacing, and correcting equipment to ensure optimal operation and efficiency according to production requirements. The position requires troubleshooting skills, adherence to safety regulations, and active participation in team development and communication. Familiarity with Simmons' operating systems, including quality, security, and LEAN principles, is expected, along with a commitment to supporting business objectives through other necessary duties.
Requirements
- Must have experience or vocational training in welding, electrical or mechanical repair, and refrigeration or hydraulics.
- Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team.
Nice To Haves
- Preference for poultry or food processing organization.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Repairs, replaces, corrects or affects equipment as needed to ensure equipment operates correctly and efficiently according to production requirements.
- Consults with Engineers and vendors as needed.
- Accomplishes layout work for each project as needed.
- Troubleshoots equipment.
- Meets safety requirements in accomplishing responsibilities of this position complying with all policies or regulations set forth by Simmons or various government agencies concerning safety, environment, vehicle, handling of food products, packaging, ingredients and any related items.
- Participates as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues.
- Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues.
- Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
