About The Position

The Furniture Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector ensures that products manufactured by vendor partners meet industry standards and the standards of Bob’s Discount Furniture’s Compliance Manual. Their goal is to assure that products can withstand regular use, are packaged and protected to withstand handling and transportation and that products work as intended as well as identify concerns outlined by QA management. Other responsibilities include: Conduct inspections of furniture samples and current merchandise using app-based system providing detailed descriptions of packaging, workmanship and compliance. Apply knowledge of various furniture and related products while monitoring returning merchandise to determine root causes of defects such as handling, manufacturing process, and/or packaging. Identify defects and any other problems with equipment, materials, process or personnel and report findings to Quality Assurance Group. Assist in the inspection, review, receiving and shipment of sample and production merchandise. Develop an understanding of business process management and business requirements of Quality Control, Parts and Merchandising to enhance all business functions including Customer Service, Delivery and all aspects of Distribution. Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods. Re-pack and protect merchandise following reviews and inspections. Work strategically with various departments to identify opportunities for improvements for merchandise and handling practices. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent work experience.
  • Experienced with Furniture construction or repair or an understanding from related fields.
  • Use of hand tools and basic construction methods.
  • Proven successful track record of outstanding customer service abilities.
  • Proven successful track record of self-management and multi-tasking.
  • Knowledge and use of RF scanner and inventory operating systems.
  • Must be at least 18 years old to be considered for employment with Bob’s.

  • Basic understanding of computer software such as but not limited to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Knowledge of operating warehouse equipment such as forklift, Picker Lift and Power Pallet Jack.
  • Ability to redirect attention and resources to high level issues quickly and efficiently to provide feedback in a timely manner.
