About The Position

Broad River Retail is seeking a Furniture Handler Trainee to join its Operations Team at the Four Oaks Supercenter in Four Oaks, North Carolina. The role supports warehouse operations by loading and unloading furniture, receiving inventory into the distribution center’s inventory control system, and checking merchandise for damage before customer delivery. The position operates on a contract-to-hire basis.

Employees load and unload trucks manually or with hand trucks, sort products onto carts, use an RF scanner to receive inventory, process recycling and packing materials, and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facility and equipment. The work takes place in a non-climate-controlled warehouse with some outdoor exposure. Employees are regularly on their feet and must routinely handle items weighing up to 75 pounds.

• Manual dexterity and the capacity to maneuver furniture.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks at the warehouse loading dock without damaging products.
• Unload furniture manually or with hand trucks.
• Identify and communicate physical damage to merchandise.
• Sort unloaded items onto carts by size, type, or product code.
• Use an RF scanner to receive inventory in the inventory control system.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the building, grounds, and equipment.
• Accept cross-training opportunities.
• Follow material-handling and warehouse safety guidelines.
• Operate recycling machinery.
• Sort and process dunnage.
• Follow the company attendance policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
