About The Position
Nesco Resource is seeking experienced 1st Shift Furniture Hand Sanders for a local facility in Hickory, NC. This role involves preparing furniture components and case goods for finishing by hand sanding. The ideal candidate will be able to smooth wood surfaces, edges, corners, and detailed areas to meet quality standards, inspect pieces for imperfections, and perform necessary touch-ups. Responsibilities include the safe and efficient use of sanding tools and equipment, adherence to production specifications and safety procedures, and maintaining a clean work area.
Requirements
- Experience in furniture manufacturing, cabinetry, case goods, hand sanding, spraying, finishing, assembly prep, or related manufacturing experience.
- Dependable.
- Detail-oriented.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- 1 year or more of relevant experience may qualify for a higher starting rate.
Responsibilities
- Hand sand furniture components and case goods to prepare surfaces for finishing.
- Smooth wood surfaces, edges, corners, and detailed areas to meet established quality standards.
- Inspect furniture pieces for imperfections and complete necessary touch-ups before moving products to the next stage of production.
- Use sanding tools, equipment, and materials safely and efficiently.
- Follow production specifications and established safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
