About The Position

The Furnace Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining furnaces and equipment to produce a quality product, both established and experimental, in a safe, clean, and professional manner. This role involves preparing all necessary paperwork related to alloys produced, managing time effectively to meet production schedules and standards, and demonstrating the ability to analyze and adjust to unanticipated work situations. The operator must possess strong reasoning and problem-solving skills to determine the safest and most beneficial processes. Additionally, the position requires cross-training in other positions/departments as assigned and performing various other duties as assigned, including maintaining machines, equipment, and the work area for cleanliness and efficient operation, and assisting with minor maintenance tasks such as painting, oiling, cleaning, and adjustments.

Requirements

• Applicant must be 18 years old or older.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to analyze and adjust to unanticipated work situations.
• Skill in reasoning and problem solving to determine the safest and most beneficial process.
• Ability to calculate and determine exact weights of materials inbound and out bound.
• Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures to daily tasks.
• Ability to conform to established quality control standards and procedures.
• Ability to drive a stand-up forklifts and sit-down forklifts.

Nice To Haves

• A high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) equivalency, or other high school equivalency credential is preferred but NOT required.

Responsibilities

• Charge Making.
• Powder Process.
• Troubleshoot alloys and equipment.
• Calculate and determine exact weights of materials inbound and out bound.
• Interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures to daily tasks.
• Conform to established quality control standards and procedures.
• Drive stand-up forklifts and sit-down forklifts.
