The Director of Development is accountable for the performance and success of fundraising events and strategies across the Northeastern New York (NENY) chapter to meet revenue goals. This person will mobilize and manage staff and volunteers to produce the Chapter’s special events and fundraising initiatives according to our national timelines and best practices and serve in a leadership role within the chapter, reporting to the Vice President of Development. As Director of Development, you will put your proven sales and relationship management skills to work driving success and achieving revenue goals through positive engagement with staff and community volunteer leaders. Utilizing your proven networking skills, you will identify and cultivate relationships with key community leaders and C-Suite corporate partners effectively. As a recognized leader and fundraiser in the peer-to-peer space, you will coach and inspire your team to build successful event growth strategies through community and volunteer engagement for our Walk to End Alzheimer’s and Gala programs. In this key chapter leadership position, you will work closely with the Vice President and cross-functional leadership developing ambitious community engagement strategies and goals that align with the Association’s strategic plan and deliver measurable results. You will contribute your professional fundraising leadership experience in leading, coaching and mentoring your team of professional development staff. And you will lead the planning and execution of the chapter’s annual Gala, bringing community leaders together through an evening dinner event to raise funds to support the chapter’s work in the community and critical research. This event includes recruiting and managing an Executive Leadership Planning Committee to drive corporate sponsorship, event ticket sales, and individual giving to the event to reach set goals.
