About The Position

Join the Rescue Mission as a Development Intern and gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising while helping provide housing, meals, and essential services to individuals and families in need throughout our community.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Professionalism, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in fundraising, nonprofit management, event planning, communications, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with donor communications, outreach, and engagement.
• Support fundraising campaigns and donor stewardship.
• Assist with planning and execution of 2027 Rescue Mission events, including: Syracuse Mets 50/50 Raffle – Syracuse Mets home games, Ride & Run for the Rescue – July 2027, Mission Possible Golf Tournament – August 2027, Hope Awards Gala – November 2027, Movie with a Mission – December 2027
• Assist with donor database/CRM updates and administrative tasks.
• Help prepare event materials, sponsorship information, correspondence, and other development projects.
• Follow the Rescue Mission’s Vision and Mission Statements and maintain a safety-first approach.
