About The Position

Aligned Talent Acquisition is continually seeking experienced Fund Finance Associate Attorneys for opportunities with Am Law 50, Am Law 100, Am Law 200, regional, and boutique law firms throughout the Chicago market. This role offers the chance to represent lenders, private equity funds, investment managers, or financial institutions in sophisticated fund finance transactions. This practice area is one of the fastest-growing finance practice areas in BigLaw, offering the opportunity to represent leading financial institutions and investment funds in sophisticated cross-border and domestic financing transactions. The position provides significant client interaction and early responsibility, with outstanding long-term career growth in a highly specialized practice.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of finance experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
  • Experience representing commercial banks, private credit funds, investment managers, private equity sponsors, or institutional lenders
  • Experience drafting and negotiating credit agreements, security agreements, pledge agreements, guaranties, and related financing documents
  • Experience conducting due diligence and managing sophisticated financing transactions from inception through closing
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and client counseling skills
  • Ability to independently manage sophisticated transactions while maintaining significant client interaction
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with private equity funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds, or real estate funds is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Representing lenders, private equity funds, investment managers, or financial institutions in sophisticated fund finance transactions
  • Handling subscription credit facilities, NAV facilities, hybrid facilities, GP facilities, management company financings, and other fund finance transactions
  • Drafting and negotiating credit agreements, security agreements, pledge agreements, guaranties, and related financing documents
  • Conducting due diligence and managing sophisticated financing transactions from inception through closing
  • Client counseling

Benefits

  • Compensation $260,000 – $390,000+
