About The Position

At Solstice, we're building AI software that helps life sciences teams turn complex scientific and brand information into marketing content they can create, refine, and review with confidence. We've worked with leading life sciences manufacturers and more than 50 pharma brands. You'll build the systems and experiences that make this work faster and easier. Build the foundation for how people work with AI. Your work will span the infrastructure that runs agents and the product experiences that help customers direct, inspect, and use their output. Take on engineering problems with depth. Make long-running agents reliable, stream progress into responsive interfaces, deliver the right context securely, and understand what happens across every step of execution. Requirements

Depth in Python and FastAPI; experience shipping and operating production Python services.
Ability to build well-designed FastAPI APIs and understand asynchronous programming, validation, authentication, and error handling.
Strong systems fundamentals, including designing clear service contracts and data models.
Comfort working with PostgreSQL and Redis.
Ability to think through concurrency, transactions, idempotency, and failure recovery.
Experience turning AI into useful software, including building AI applications or their infrastructure.
Ability to reason about tool calling, context management, agent sessions, and the boundaries between model behavior and application logic.
Comfort working across the full stack with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
Ability to connect interfaces to backend APIs.
A habit of making systems understandable through traces, logs, and metrics.
Experience with testing, security, and maintainability as part of the shipping process.
Ownership and good judgment; ability to turn ambiguous problems into practical plans.
Ability to explain tradeoffs and follow through on commitments.
Strong collaboration skills and a desire to seek feedback.
A focus on solving customer problems.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain the agent platform using Python, FastAPI, Restate, and Redis.
Shape session management, orchestration, tool access, and context delivery for AI capabilities.
Design and build Python and FastAPI services for content creation, document processing, collaboration, and enterprise integrations.
Design clear API contracts and PostgreSQL data models.
Solve complex agent execution problems, including failure recovery, cancellation, retries, and isolated execution.
Provide agents with current documents, assets, and brand context while ensuring data security and permissions.
Build user-facing interfaces with React, Next.js, and TypeScript to display streaming progress, tool activity, and allow users to review and refine AI output.
Implement observability using Datadog and OpenTelemetry for tracing, logging, metrics, and alerts.
Partner with Applied AI engineers on evaluations and regression checks using tools like Braintrust, API, and integration tests.
Own the entire development lifecycle from idea to production, including deployment, monitoring, and improvement.
Work with product and customer teams to select problems, make tradeoffs, and ship features.
