About The Position

Full-time faculty position, tenure-track or clinical-track, teaching in clinical, laboratory, and/or didactic courses working with undergraduate students in a BSN nursing program. Courses are delivered predominately face-to-face. This position will include a primary teaching focus of medical/surgical nursing. A sub-specialty is preferred but not required. Faculty may also teach similar content in the Post-Bacc BSN program. A minimum of three years clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing is necessary
A master’s degree in nursing is required
A clinical focus with practice in medical/surgical nursing care settings is necessary.
Current Minnesota RN licensure or eligibility required.

Nice To Haves

A sub-specialty is preferred but not required.
clinical experience in an additional nursing specialty is preferred, but not required.
Previous experience as a nurse educator in an academic setting or as a preceptor of students or new nursing employees would be an asset.
doctoral degree or significant progress toward completion of a doctoral degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

Teach in classroom and clinical settings, specifically medical/surgical nursing, and teaching clinical/lab in specialty or sub-specialty area.
Teach in the nursing skills and simulation labs.
Provide online teaching of skills and/or didactic content and clinical in the Post-Bacc BSN program as needed.
Evaluate students in classroom, clinical, and skills settings, including on performance exams.
General faculty responsibilities include involvement in the activities of the department and university (i.e., participation on teaching teams and committees).
Contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance inclusive excellence in the department and the discipline.
