About The Position

Bolder Apps is hiring a Full-Stack Web Developer to build and ship web products for US-based clients. The developer will own features end to end, from databases and APIs through React interfaces, working primarily with React and Next.js on the frontend and Node.js on the backend. The role uses AI coding tools as part of the daily workflow, while requiring hands-on experience building and reviewing production frontends and backends.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of full-stack experience building production web applications, with hands-on work on both backend and frontend.
• A portfolio or work history showing shipped products rather than only tutorials or demos.
• Strong hands-on React experience.
• Production experience with Node.js or another popular backend language such as Python, with a clear path to Node.js.
• Experience designing APIs, working with relational databases, and handling authentication and third-party integrations.
• Fluency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
• Experience with Git, code review, testing, and careful production deployments.
• Daily use of AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT, with the ability to catch and correct their mistakes.
• English proficiency at C1 level or above.
• Availability for overlap through roughly 5 PM EST for live client coordination.
• Ownership habits, including honest estimates, raising blockers early, and completing work.

Nice To Haves

• Next.js production experience.
• Agency or multi-client experience.
• Cloud and hosting experience with Vercel, AWS, or similar.
• Experience with Postgres, Prisma, or Supabase.
• Some React Native or mobile experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship full-stack features for client web products, from data models and APIs through React and Next.js interfaces.
• Design and maintain Node.js backend services and APIs, including authentication, integrations, background jobs, and database work.
• Build fast, accessible, responsive frontends in React and Next.js, including server rendering and routing where appropriate.
• Turn product briefs and designs into working software, and raise concerns early when scope or technical approaches are unsuitable.
• Use AI coding tools to work efficiently, then review, test, and take ownership of code before it reaches production.
• Keep code clean, tested, and documented for other engineers.
• Work directly with project managers, designers, and US clients on estimates, trade-offs, and launch risks.
• Deploy, monitor, and resolve production issues for the applications built.
